....I just absolutely love science, mainly 'cause I'm always keen to figure out how things actually work. Like, everything from the tiny stuff inside a living cell and the quantum world, all the way down to the center of the Earth and out to the furthest galaxies. I'm just dead curious, you know? I always want to look under the hood, question what we reckon we already know, and really get down to the nuts and bolts of what makes the world tick.
I reckon the absolute best discoveries happen right where different fields mash up together, and that's exactly where I want to spend my time researching. I don't want to just sit around reading about science; I want to get stuck in. I want to actually discover things, build 'em, and use science to sort out problems that genuinely matter.
What really gets me going is wrapping my head around tricky biological problems and turning wild scientific ideas into practical tech that can tackle real-world issues. I absolutely love working right at the crossroads of biotech, nanotech, biomaterials, and biomedical engineering. When all those disciplines come together, it just opens up so many possibilities.
The most exciting part for me is the whole journey of it. Taking an idea that's just a thought in your head, figuring out the science behind it, knocking together a prototype, and testing it out. And yeah, you fail a bunch, but you learn from it, tweak it, and just keep having a crack until you've got something that could genuinely be a bloody useful piece of technology.
